In scenes straight out of faction violence films, four youths chased a man with hunting sickles and lynched him in broad daylight on Sunday.
Police said that the victim Sudhir, son of Raju of Janatanagar in Moosapet under the Kukatpally police station limits, went to college on his bike to write an examination along with his friends Meghanath and Sai.
Four youths who were waiting for Sudhir attacked him when his bike reached the Kukatpally JSP Honda showroom after obstructing the bike.
The men chased Sudhir and butchered him with hunting sickles when the victim tried to escape from them.
Sudhir's friends, who first tried to obstruct the attackers, fled as they feared attacks by the assailants. However, home guard Paramesh, who was at the traffic police station on duty, caught one of the four assailants when they were fleeing from the scene after the murder.
The police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem. They identified the assailants as Krishna, Mahesh and Naveen living in Moosapet. The incident occurred near the ACB office and Traffic Police Station.
