The police today arrested two persons in the murder of Mohammed Qaboola alias Addu on July 20 in a narrow lane behind Rahath Hotel, Asifnagar, Hyderabad.
The Asifnagar Police, in coordination with the South West Zone Task Force, today arrested two individuals in connection with a gruesome murder that occurred on July 20, 2025, at around 10 pm in a narrow lane behind Rahath Hotel, New Kishan Nagar, Asifnagar, Hyderabad.
The principal accused has been identified as Mohd Waseem alias PM alias Yaba, 27, son of Mohd Moinuddin, a resident of Asifnagar. The second accused, Sameer Khan alias Junaid, 25, son of Akbar Khan, works in furniture-making and resides in Jhirra, Hyderabad.
The deceased was identified as Mohammed Qaboola alias Addu, 28, son of Mohd Miskeen Khan, a sofa-maker residing in Saber Nagar, near Basti Hospital, Community Hall, Asifnagar.
According to the police, all three were known to each other. However, Waseem and Sameer allegedly harboured a long-standing grudge against Qaboola, which led them to plot his murder.
Narrating the sequence, the police said that on July 20, at around 5 pm, the accused met at Nammak Karkhana, consumed alcohol, and decided to execute their plan. Sameer then called Qaboola to discuss an issue related to Waseem, but Qaboola declined. Later, the duo set out on Waseem's motorcycle, carrying a knife. At around 9:45 pm, they spotted Qaboola with friends in the narrow lane behind Rahath Hotel.
Sameer approached him and initiated a confrontation. Waseem soon joined, and as tensions escalated, Sameer pulled the knife out and attacked Qaboola while Waseem held Qaboola down. Qaboola's friends fled the scene. After stabbing him multiple times, Waseem reportedly smashed a granite stone on Qaboola's head, causing fatal injuries.
Police recovered the knife used in the attack and a Redmi mobile phone from Sameer, and the Pulsar bike (TS 12 EH 9472) from Waseem.
The accused were both arrested, and produced before the court.
The police stated that Waseem already had a criminal background and was previously involved in Cr No 33/2021 under Section 307 r/w 34 IPC at the Asifnagar PS.
