MLC K Kavitha has once again stirred controversy within the BRS with a letter.
In her latest missive, she questioned her removal as the honorary president of the Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangham (TBGKS) and the appointment of Koppula Eshwar in her place.
In her letter today, Kavitha said that the TBGKS meeting was held while she was touring the United States.
"While I was still abroad, a so-called TBGKS Central Committee meeting was held illegally, and it was announced that a new honorary president had been elected," she said.
She alleged that the election was conducted at the party office in violation of labour laws, and described it as a deliberate attempt to oust her and weaken workers' unity.
She also accused those who leaked her earlier letter of continuing to harass her. She said that after she demanded action against those who leaked her letter to party president K Chandrashekar Rao, vengeance was directed at her instead.
The issue has quickly become a hot topic in Telangana's political circles. Supporters of Kavitha claimed that the decision was taken deliberately after her departure to the US. However, TBGKS representatives countered that the post had been vacant for a year and Eshwar was elected to fill it.
As per reports, Kavitha has found herself increasingly sidelined in BRS activities. The rift, which began after her remark that "there are demons around KCR", worsened following her repeated accusations against her brother and BRS working president K T Rama Rao. She alleged that he conspired both against her without regard for her position as KCR's daughter, and to merge the BRS with the BJP.
The siblings have reportedly not spoken since, with their strained ties evident even during the Rakhi festival. With Kavitha's faction openly blaming KTR for her isolation, all eyes are now on whether party chief KCR will intervene to defuse the growing controversy.
