A man was stabbed to death in KPHB Colony by another after the latter's love proposal was rejected and the woman was married to the former.
The accused, Pampena Ayyappa Swamy alias Pavan, a native of Andhra Pradesh, fell in love with a woman. However, her mother rejected his proposal and instead arranged her wedding with the deceased, Kalla Venkata Ramana (32).
The rejection deeply affected Swamy, who went into depression, began consuming alcohol, and confided in his brother-in-law Gubbala Shiva Rama Krishna alias Ganesh.
About six months before the incident, Ramana and his wife moved to KPHB Colony, Hyderabad.
Swamy discovered their whereabouts and resumed following the woman he once loved. Ramana and Ramana's brother noticed this, and warned Swamy of legal action.
Swamy then resolved to kill Ramana, believing it was the only way to reclaim his love.
He began monitoring Ramana's movements and discussed the murder plan with Ganesh during a drinking session.
On May 11, Swamy tracked Ramana. According to their plan, Swamy and his accomplices gathered near KSR Ayyappa Enclave and began creating a disturbance by abusing Ramana's relatives to provoke a confrontation. When Ramana approached the cellar grill, Swamy seized the moment and stabbed him in the left side of the chest with a knife.
Ramana cried out and collapsed due to severe blood loss, dying on the spot.
After committing the murder, the culprits fled the scene.
The KPHB police have arrested the accused.
