Telangana IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao today stated that the famous pilgrimage centre and census town Vemulawada, in Rajanna Sircilla district, would soon be developed and equipped with modern facilities and infrastructure.
Speaking at a high-level review meeting at the Pragathi Bhavan, he added that the town's Sri Raja Rajeswara temple, one of the most famous temples in Telangana, would be modernised as well.
During the meeting, the minister sought a detailed report and a plan of action for the development of the famed religious centre.
Asking the officials concerned to take immediate measures to promote tourism to help provide employment to locals in the region, KTR said, "Prepare separate plans detailing the steps to be undertaken to improve tourism and for development in the town. The temple will be developed along the lines of the Yadadri Bhuvanagiri temple. Also, a road like Hyderabad's Necklace Road must be developed in the town. Our government is committed to developing the state's religious sites into flourishing tourist destinations."
This meeting comes just a day after another high-level one where the leader had asked the officials concerned to
expedite the works of the ongoing irrigation projects in Siricilla district.
