Terming the Congress as a 420 party, BRS working president and minister K T Rama Rao said that there was "no warranty for the Congress' guarantees" announced for the Assembly elections, and that the people should teach a fitting lesson to the party in the upcoming elections.
Addressing the people after taking part in several development works and inauguration programs in Khammam district on Saturday, KTR said that the people of Khammam district were very intelligent, and asked them to ensure that the Congress was left without an address after the Assembly elections.
"The Congress never sticks to its promises. And its leaders don't have any knowledge of how to solve the problems of the people, and just give assurances," KTR said.
Later, the minister unveiled a statue of NTR and inaugurated the NTR Municipal Park at the Lakaram Tank Bund; an underground drain, stormwater drains and 10 municipal parks developed with Rs 106 crore as part of the Gollapadu channel modernisation; a football turf court at SBIT; and a vegetable and meat market at the VDOs Colony in Khammam town.
Speaking on the occasion, KTR said that NTR was a great leader who had left an indelible mark on the people's minds, and that the former chief minister would remain in history forever.
He also exuded confidence that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who entered politics with inspiration from NTR, would achieve the feat of becoming a "hat-trick CM" in the upcoming Assembly elections, something that even NTR could not achieve.
The minister also laid the foundation stone for development works worth Rs 100 crore to be financed by the Telangana Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TUFIDC) and by Rs 20 crore of LRS grants.
He also released a coffee table book brought out by the Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC) on Khammam's development.
Minister for Transport Puvvada Ajay Kumar and other elected representatives accompanied KTR.
