Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA T Harish Rao, on Friday, accused Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of master-minding the entire "resignation drama" of the Seemandhra MLAs to prevent the Centre from taking a favourable decision on the Telangana issue.
Talking to reporters, Harish Rao said that Kiran Kumar Reddy was trying to do what the-then Chief Minister K Rosaiah had done in the December of 2009 to stop the formation of the Telangana State. He alleged that by using money power, the Chief Minister and other leaders were provoking the students? organisations and APNGOs to launch an agitation against the demand for a separate Telangana.
Harish Rao said that that the people in Andhra and Rayalaseema were not against the division of Andhra Pradesh. However, he said, only a few leaders were opposing the bifurcation to protect their business interest.
He alleged that the Chief Minister was using leaders like
Jagga Reddy and
Veerashiva Reddy to enforce his agenda against Telangana.
The TRS leader said that his party was restraining itself from making statments on the issue as it wants the Centre to take an early and favourable decision on the statehood issue. However, he said, the TDP's silence on the issue was highly questionable. (INN)
