Former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Thursday, announced that he would launch a new political party on March 12, 2014.
Addressing a press conference, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the party's name, agenda and other details about it will be disclosed at the launch of the party in a public meeting at Rajahmundry on March 12.
He said that the main objective of his party would be to uphold the prestige and dignity of the Telugu people, two things which were hurt very badly due to the way in which Andhra Pradesh was divided.
"Two national parties - Congress and BJP - and two regional parties - TDP and YSRCP - have done grave injustice to the Telugu people," Kiran said.
While accusing TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu of adopting a dual stand on the issue and of not opposing the bifurcation, he charged the YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy of secretly supporting the state's division.
He alleged that the BJP leaders had described the Telangana bill as defective, but in the end, they had also supported it.
"The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has stated that he had felt hurt when four ministers had rushed to the well of the Lok Sabha. But he clearly did not feel the pain of the Telugu people while dividing their state, he said. (INN)
