Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA T Harish Rao on Monday demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy do justice to the 140 Tahsildars from the Telangana region who have been overlooked and have not been promoted as Deputy Collectors despite their seniority in service.
Talking to mediapersons after submitting a memorandum to the Chief Minister at his chamber in the Assembly premises, Harish Rao alleged that the Chief Minister has cheated Telangana employees once again by not honouring the promise he made soon after he was sworn in (3 months ago).
The TRS leader pointed out that the Tahsildars from the Seemandhra region are promoted as Deputy Collectors and then posted in the Telangana region. This was a major injustice done to local Tahsildars, Harish Rao alleged.
He appealed to the Chief Minister to look into this anomaly on an urgent basis.
Harish Rao also urged Kiran Kumar Reddy to help farmers who have been hit hard due to unseasonal rains. He said that the rains have destroyed all hopes of bumper crops, leaving the farmers facing financial problems.
The memorandum was submitted by members affiliated to the TDP, the TRS, the Congress and the Left parties.
