Senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra today took part in a public meeting held at Palakurthy in Jangaon district.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that she was feeling proud after seeing the power of the youth and the women in Telangana.
Targeting BRS candidate and State minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, she said that she was feeling sad seeing the encroachments of lands done by his family. She said that Telangana State was formed due to the sacrifices of the people, and that everyone's aspirations should be fulfilled now. "Have the aspirations of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for statehood been fulfilled? The people have to think about it," she said.
Gandhi also asked how many people had got jobs in Telangana State. "How many people have got government jobs in the last 10 years? Telangana is the number one State in the country in terms of unemployment, and only KCR's family members have been given jobs here. There was also a lot of corruption in the job examinations conducted by the government. The youth were disappointed as the papers of the job exams were leaked. Some have even committed suicides. And instead of commiserating, this government spoken sarcastically about the death of a young woman when she killed herself," she said.
Also targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gandhi alleged that the former was looting the country's wealth and that his friend Gautam Adani earned Rs 1,500 crore each day.
Gandhi claimed that if the Congress won, the difficulties of the unemployed would be gone. "When we come to power we will implement a job calendar, and there won't be any paper leaks. The hardships of women will also be removed: Rs 2,500 per month will be deposited in each woman's account, and we will give gas cylinders for Rs 500," she said.
She also said that the prices of all commodities had gone up due to the hike in petrol and diesel prices by the Centre and due to the GST. "The Congress has to come to power to bring down the prices of the goods. Change has to come. The Congress needs to come. The KCR government should go," she said.
Priyanka also addressed a public meeting in the Husnabad Assembly constituency, where she repeated the same things.
