6 members of 2 families were killed when a compound wall collapsed on some huts adjoining it, in MJ Colony of Moula Ali near ECIL, in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Padma, Mahadev, Anil, Shiva and Venkataiah. One more child is said to be among those who lost their lives.
The GHMC officials who rushed to the spot on getting information could save two children - Avinash and Anusha - from under the debris, after nearly 6 hours.
The deceased were daily-wage labourers from neighbouring Ranga Reddy and Mahabubnagar districts.
Revenue Minister Dr. N Raghuveera Reddy announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs. 6.5 lakh to the next of kin of each of the deceased, and assured free education to the children who survived the accident.
