State Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao on Thursday dismissed reports that the Cabinet note on Telangana was ready.
Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Office here, Ganta said that the note on Telangana would not be sent to the Union Cabinet until the Antony Committee submits its reports.
When asked to react to Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde's statement, he said that Shinde's claim on the Cabinet note was aimed at pleasing Telangana leaders, but that his statement was taken very seriously by Seemandhra leaders.
Speaking about Thursday's meeting of ministers and legislators from all the regions, Ganta said that the meeting was aimed at giving a fitting reply to opposition parties that have been targeting the Congress leadership on the statehood issue.
He said that distribution of resources, especially irrigation, jobs and energy, are the main concerns of issue of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
He clarified that the Samaikyandhra agitation going on in the Seemandhra region for the last 51 days is being carried out by the common people, and that it is not being led or sponsored by any political party or leader. (INN)
