The process of consultations and meetings for formation of Telangana are said to be over.
Reportedly, the Group of Ministers (GoM) has finalised its report, and the same will be submitted to the Union Cabinet on December 4.
Speaking to media persons in New Delhi on Thursday, Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said that the GoM will conduct its last meeting on December 3, to give final touches to the report.
This report will be placed before the Union Cabinet for consideration.
He also made it clear that the Union Cabinet will not discuss anything in relation to Telangana during Thursday's meeting.
Shinde also dismissed the possibility of the formation of Rayala Telangana or giving a Union Territory status to Hyderabad.
He said the Telangana state will have 10 districts, with Hyderabad as its capital.
He said there are no issues with regard to Hyderabad and Bhadrachalam.
However, sources say that the final decision over the status of Hyderabad is yet to be made, and that the GoM might leave the decision to the discretion of the Centre.
The Home Minister said that the Telangana Bill would be finalised soon. He added that the Bill would be introduced in the ensuing winter session of the Parliament.
He said that steps are being taken to ensure that the Bill is flawless.
Even legal experts were consulted to ensure the same. He assured that concerns raised by all will be addressed in the Bill. (INN)
