State Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao slammed PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana for stating that disciplinary action would be taken against those who opposed the decision of the Congress Working Committee to bifurcate Telangana.
Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat media point, Ganta said that the criticism against the CWC's decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh is not a revolt against the Congress party, but an expression of views of the people that the Seemandhra legislators represent, in the Assembly and Parliament.
He said that if opposing the CWC's decision is indiscipline, then both Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and the PCC chief himself are guilty of doing the same.
He advised Botsa to "ignore the issue and avoid any follow-up".
Ganta said that there are some leaders who are targeting the Congress party, in order to join other parties.
However, there are some leaders who are still holding the flag of Congress party despite their opposition to the party's decision to divide the state.
Referring to the demand of Union Minister K Chiranjeevi that Hyderabad should be made a Union Territory, Ganta said that those are the "individual views of Chiranjeevi".
He said that the Seemandhra legislators have not changed their stand and are still demanding that AP remain united. (INN)
