BJLP leader Eleti Maheswara Reddy today made serious accusations against industrialist Megha Krishna Reddy.
Speaking at the media point in the Assembly, Eleti said that though the government had changed in the State, the control over the government was still with Megha Krishna Reddy.
"Will the contractor change even if the government changes?" he asked.
He alleged that Krishna Reddy was being given contracts again after doing sub-standard work. "Public money is being misused. The Sunkishala barrage was damaged. It did not come to the notice of the government even after 10 days," he said.
"Also, the estimated cost of the Sunkishala project in the past was Rs 800 crore. However, Megha Krishna Reddy increased it to Rs 4,000 crore. Thousands of crores of rupees are being looted by the criminal contractors. Why is there no action on Megha so far?" he asked.
He also said that Revanth Reddy had made several allegations against the same Megha Krishna Reddy during his tenure as PCC chief on the Kaleshwaram project. "Why is the alleged Kaleshwaram corruption not being recommended to the CBI now? We also have information that some works in the CM's constituency Kodangal have also been given to Reddy now," he said.
He also referred to the retired judge committee set up on the irregularities committed in the Kaleswaram project. "The judge has not been paid his salary for three months. The government is also not giving him crucial files," he alleged, and said that he suspected that the government itself was in the process of diluting the committee.
"Megha Krishna Reddy is trying for a rapprochement between the BRS and Congress leaders, and making settlements. I have evidence that Megha is a criminal company, and am ready to submit it wherever it is needed. I demand that Megha be blacklisted," he said.
