BJP Legislature Party leader Eleti Maheshwar Reddy today alleged that the Telangana government was looting public money and handing it over to Andhra Pradesh-based contractors through "dark deals" instead of putting the relevent GOs in the public domain.
He also alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had given contract works worth Rs 1,100 crore to AP-based contractor and Megha company owner Krishna Reddy in his (the CM's) home district Mahbubnagar by releasing secret GOs.
Explaining the details, Maheshwar Reddy alleged that the CM had indulged in corruption worth Rs 3,000 crore under the AMRUT scheme of the Centre. "The work was divided into three chunks, and the contracts given to three different people. Megha Krishna Reddy got a project worth Rs 1,100 crore under the scheme," Maheshwar Reddy said.
He pointed out that the enquiry into the controversial Kaleshwaram project was being held against Megha Krishna Reddy, and wondered as to how the State government could give any contracts to a person who was facing a judicial inquiry.
He also alleged that the CM gave a Rs 400 crore contract to a company named Shonda owned by his brother-in-law Srujan, who was involved in an excise scam, after escalating its estimates.
He demanded that Revanth Reddy answer the people of the State on his "immoral acts".
