Union Railway Budget allots new trains and routes for AP, several in Telangana region

Mamta Banerjee, the Union Minister for Railways, is presenting the Railway Budget for 2010-11 in the Lok Sabha today. She called for public-private partnership in the railway sector, announced sops for women and minorities, said RFID will be used for freight transport, proposed 1,000 km of new lines, proposed multi-level parking facilities, and called for newer business models for the railways.

Among the new trains and routes announced, this is what was allotted to the state of Andhra Pradesh -

  • New trains for the following:
    • Zaheerabad - Secunderabad
    • Kachiguda - Chittoor
  • New rail routes for the following:
    • Jaggayyapeta - Miryalguda
    • Nizamabad - Ramagundam
    • Bhadrachalam road - Kothagudem
    • Mantralayam road - Kurnool
    • Patancheru - Adilabad
    • Hyderabad-Gajwel-Siddipet-Siricilla-Jagityal
    • Jagdalpur-Miryalguda
    • Bhadrachalam-Kovvuru
  • New line survey for Nizampatnam-Repalle

Bhadrachalam road - Kothagudem

Bhadrachalam road is the railway station situated in the heart of the town Kothagudem i could not understand the line BDCR - KOTHAGUDEM new line? is the railway authorities so _____ regarding the names of the railway stations. The only railway statation present in Kothagudem is Bhadrachalam road then what is the fun in introducing new line to Bhadrachalam road - Kothagudem. please justify/clarify
