Telangana Jagruti President K Kavitha today said that she had not yet made a decision regarding the formation of a new party.
During a conversation with reporters, she said that before establishing the BRS its leader K Chandrashekar Rao had consulted with several individuals before arriving at a decision, and that she was following a similar approach.
Kavitha also said that she had no plans to join the Congress. "No leader from Congress has reached out to me, and I haven't sought contact with anyone in the party. I am puzzled as to why Chief Minister Revanth Reddy continues to mention my name. Is he considering leaving the Congress?" she said.
She also expressed her desire to work for everyone, rather than just for a specific group. "The issues concerning the Backward Classes resonate deeply with me. At this moment, I feel unencumbered. My doors are open to all, and many individuals are coming to see me. I have a substantial list of BRS leaders who are in communication with me," she said.
In an earlier media conference, Kavitha had said that the Karnataka government was preparing to acquire 1.30 lakh acres to raise the height of the Almatti dam by 5 metres, aiming to store 100 TMC of water.
"If that happens, what options will the people in the Telangana region have other than playing cricket in the Krishna river? If the government does not approach the Supreme Court regarding the Almatti dam, Jagruti will take legal action," she said.
