Refuting speculations that she was planning to resign from the Governor's post and contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Tamil Nadu, Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan today said that there were no such plans and that all the news to this effect being circulated on the social media were just speculations.
The Governor visited the Anuradha Timbers International unit at Bowenpally on Saturday. Anuradha Timbers is preparing about 100 doors for the Rama temple in Ayodhya. The Governor appreciated the management of the company for taking part in the construction of prestigious temple.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, the Governor said that no request had been made to her by the BJP leadership to contest the Lok Sabha elections. She however said that she would accept whatever responsibility was assigned to her by the party leadership.
"I have not made any appeal to the party to let me contest to be an MP. In general, I am always with the people, and am available to the public 24 hours regardless of my position as a doctor, a politician and a Governor," Soundararajan said.
