The Telangana BJP leaders have taken the upcoming Lok Sabha elections seriously.
With all the key leaders losing the Assembly elections, they are looking to contest the Lok Sabha elections and retain their prestiges.
The BJP has finalised its candidates for six of the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. Of the four sitting MPs, three have been given tickets again. They are Kishan Reddy for Secunderabad, Bandi Sanjay for Karimnagar and D Arvind for Nizamabad.
The party also finalised the names of Konda Vishweshwar Reddy for Chevella, Dr Venkateswara Rao for Khammam and Boora Narsaiah Goud for Bhongir.
Meanwhile, the party leaders D K Arun and Jithender Reddy are both keen to contest for the Mahbubnagar seat, and the party leadership is likely to finalise the name of one of them for the seat.
Many of the party leaders are keen on the Malkajgiri and Zaheerabad constituencies. Etala Rajender and Muralidhar Rao are reported to be keen on contesting for the Malkajgiri seat. The party leadership is also considering the name of Malka Komuraiah, who is the owner of some private educational institutions, for the Malkajgiri ticket.
The BJP has decided to go alone in the State. The State party unit chief Kishan Reddy has already put an end to the propaganda that there would be an alliance with the BRS. The party is also holding its Vijaya Sankalpa yatras as preparation for the elections. The party leaders feel that positivity for the BJP in the State has increased after the Assembly elections, and that its yatras will improve things further.
