A delegation of TRS leaders, including MLC Karne Prabhakar, today complained to the Election Commission against the Opposition Parties for violation of the election code through various means including getting paid articles published in a section of the press and thereby influencing the voters in the Warangal by-election.
The complaint was made in the wake of the TDP-BJP combine and the Congress, separately, complaining to the Election Commission against the TRS for violation of the poll code by announcing sops and welfare schemes.
Talking to reporters at the Secretariat later, Prabhakar said that he had filed a complaint with Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal against the Opposition Parties.
"I urged him to take action against Telugu Desam Party leader Revanth Reddy and BJP leaders for violation of the code," he said.
He said that he had also urged the CEO to take action against Revanth Reddy for making derogatory remarks against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
Prabhakar alleged that the TDP was treating the voter like a commodity available in the market. He also said that the BJP-TDP combine and the Congress were indulging in misinformation against the TRS government.
However, he expressed confidence that TRS candidate P Dayakar would win the by-poll.
