The Hyderabad police cracked a sensational double murder case under the Mirchowk PS limits within 24 hours, arresting the accused Adil Khan (35).

According to the police, the incident occurred on April 20 at around 6 pm at Sultanpura in the Old City. The victims, Aqueel Khan (30), a driver; and his wife Ajmeera Begum (26); were at home when Adil Khan - elder brother of Aqueel - allegedly attacked them with a knife.

Both sustained fatal injuries to their necks and chests and died on the spot.

Following the murders Adil Khan fled, but was traced and arrested during a swift investigation. The police recovered the knife used in the offence, along with a mobile phone and blood-stained clothes.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the motive stemmed from longstanding personal disputes, including jealousy over the couple having children while the accused remained childless, as well as disagreements over adoption and financial hand loans.

Further investigation is underway.
