TRS working president and minister K T Rama Rao today accused the BJP and the Congress of colluding against the ruling party in the Huzurabad by-election.
He also claimed that the Election Commission was crossing its limits where the by-election was concerned, seemingly making efforts to stop the TRS from winning the constituency.
Rao told the media that he had evidence of a meeting of BJP leader Etela Rajender with TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy.
"The BJP and the Congress leaders should explain why they meet. It is a conspiracy, and they are colluding to defeat the TRS. And this is being done by the Congress fielding a dummy candidate against the BJP," Rao said.
Despite the conspiracy, however, the TRS would retain its seat as its welfare schemes had reach the people, Rao claimed.
Countering KTR's claims, BJP national vice-president D K Aruna demanded that KTR make the pictures of the meeting public.
She claimed that it was a habit of the TRS to indulge in blackmailing politics, and alleged that KTR was levelling baseless allegations against Etela as the latter had stopped him (KTR) from becoming the CM.
