As temperatures dip lower and lower, and the chill of the winter sets in, people in the city have already started fishing out their wools and flannels, even during the day.
The lowest temeratures have fallen to an all new low of 5ºC below the normal minimum temperatures, with some places in the state experiencing temperatures as low as 9ºC, and Hyderabad registering the minimum temperature of 12.4ºC.
Officials of the meteorological department say that a "cold-wave" will prevail over Adilabad, Medak, and Nizamabad over the next two nights. They attribute the early onset of winter to the depression in the Bay of Bengal.
