Rains Lash City, Predicted For 5 More Days In AP, TS

Normal life was affected in many parts of Hyderabad as moderate to heavy rains lashed the city on Monday afternoon. Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Mehdipatnam, Hitech City, S R Nagar, Neredmet, Tarnaka, Uppal, Malakpet and several areas in Secunderabad received heavy rains.

The rains resulted in traffic snarls at several localities in the city - vehicles were moving at a snail's pace at Malakpet, Kukatpally and Miyapur, and along the Lingampally and BHEL stretches. Low lying areas in many localities were flooded due to the, and the Metro Rail works were suspended at some locations.

The Indian Meteorological Department predicted that rains would continue to drench Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for another five days.
