Telangana Orders Rs 10 Lakhs For Martyrs Families

The Telangana Government on Monday issued orders for the payment of Rs 10 lakhs as assistance to the families of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for achieving statehood for Telangana.

The Collectors of all the districts in the State were asked to verify and furnish information of all such cases in their respective districts.

Accordingly, the District Collectors have so far identified 459 such families.

"To that extent, the Government has decided to pay Rs. 10 lakhs as monetary assistance to the families of these Telangana martyrs from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund," the GO Ms No 36 issued by the Revenue (FF) Department today said.

Of 459 martyrs recognised, 164 hailed from the district of Karimnagar, 91 from Warangal, 52 from Medak, 48 from Nalgonda, 31 from Nizamabad, 26 from Adilabad, 17 each from Rangareddy and Mahabubnagar, 11 from Hyderabad and two from Khammam. (INN)
