Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao today promised the Puttapaka farmers that he would raise their concerns about land acquisition with the State government.
Farmers and residents of Puttapaka village in Choutuppal mandal, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district - who face potential land loss due to changes in the Regional Ring Road (RRR) alignment - had met Rao at his office to discuss their grievances. As per reports, many of the affected farmers are small and marginal landholders who are expressing deep distress over the proposed alignment.
According to the farmers, the revised alignment of the southern part of the RRR now encroaches on their agricultural lands, causing significant financial losses and threatening their livelihoods. They urged the government to cancel the current road plan and conduct a fresh survey. The villagers suggested that the road could instead be laid on the adjacent hill land, which was unsuitable for cultivation, thereby sparing their fertile fields.
After hearing their concerns, Rao assured them that he would bring the issue to the notice of the relevant authorities to seek a solution. He said that the government had a responsibility to safeguard the land and livelihoods of farmers, and urged officials to reconsider the RRR alignment to avoid harm to the farming community.
