Subramanian Swamy Asks HC To Delink TTD From AP
BJP MP Subramanian Swamy filed a petition in the Hyderabad High Court today urging it to keep the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam separate from Andhra Pradesh's authorities.
BJP Rajya Sabha member Subramanian Swamy filed a petition in the Hyderabad High Court today urging it to keep the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) separate from Andhra Pradesh's authorities.
He told the court that this would also prevent misuse of the TTD funds by AP authorities.
Swamy personally came to Hyderabad and filed the petition. He also said that he would himself argue the case by coming back within 10 days (he left for Delhi after filing the petition).
For the uninitiated, Swamy had brought the issues of the misuse of the funds of the TTD, and the disappearance of valuable ornaments and gifts, to the notice of the Centre. He had already approached the Supreme Court on the issue, but it asked Swamy to file a case in the High Court.
