The Andhra Pradesh High Court expressed anger over the appointment of persons with criminal antecedents as members of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court today expressed anger over the appointment of persons with criminal antecedents as members of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.
It asked the state government and the TTD to submit their counters to a petition it was hearing on the matter, in three weeks.
The petition had been filed filed by BJP leader Bhanu Prakash Reddy, and challenged the constitution of the new board of the TTD.
Senior advocate Ashwani Kumar argued the case on behalf of the petitioner before the HC. In his arguments, Kumar objected to the appointment of MCI former chairman Dr. Kethan Desai as a member of the board.
The HC issued notices to 18 persons in the case before adjourning the matter.
