Shankar Naik Sees Conspiracy By His Own Partymen

The TRS Mahabubabad MLA, arrested and released in connection with a case filed by Collector Preethi Meena, alleged his own party leaders were acting against him.

TRS Mahabubabad MLA Shankar Naik, who was arrested and released in connection with a case filed by Mahabubabad District Collector Preethi Meena, alleged that his own party leaders were acting against him.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Naik said that he had tendered apologies to the Collector following pressure from his party men. He lamented that despite that the police had filed a case overnight and arrested him today.

Naik said that the Collector belonged to his own community and was like a sister to him, and asked his party leaders what they would achieve by hatching a conspiracy against him.

Asserting that he didn't commit the mistake intentionally, he said that he would give a detailed explanation to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao soon.
