Rs. 20,000 Fine For Garbage On Road At Jambagh
GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar also threatened action against any sanitation department staff allowing merchants to dispose of wastage on the road.

GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar on Tuesday directed the AMOH of Circle-8 to collect Rs. 20,000 as penalty from fruit merchants who threw garbage and waste material on the main road at Jambagh.
The Commissioner made a surprise inspection from Chandrayangutta to Jambagh, via Owaisi Hospital, Falaknuma, Charminar, Afzal Gunj, Mozamjahi Market and Nampally, in order to review the sanitation arrangements.
While on inspection, the Commissioner was also angered by the field staff of the sanitation department as they allowed various merchants to throw their wastage on the main roads.
He warned that action would be initiated against the officials for their negligence in performing their duties.
Somesh Kumar also inspected the nala desilting works at the Banjara lake in Banjara Hills, and directed the Engineering (Project) wing to come up with a proposal for the protection of the nala and for the safety of the citizens as the nala is surrounded by families.
The team also inspected the proposed site for the construction of a bridge between Gowrishanker Nagar and Road No. 12, Banjara Hills.
Additional Commissioner (Planning) P Venkata Rami Reddy, Central Zone Commissioner D Ronald Rose, South Zone Commissioner Balasubrahmanyam Reddy, Engineer-in-Chief Dhan Singh, Additional Commissioner (H&S) N Ravi Kiran and other officials also participated in the inspection. (INN)
