The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted a raid on Ranga Reddy Joint Collector Jaganmohan on Tuesday. Arming itself with 9 investigation teams, the ACB raided the homes of Jagmohan's friends' and relatives' as well, beginning its operation at 5am this morning.
The Joint Collector's homes on Road No. 13, Jubilee Hills, as well as in Himayat Nagar, were investigated. His relatives residing in Kukatpally also came under scrutiny.
The bureau identified assets worth 3.5 crores at the JC's home, including half a kilo of gold and Rs. 9.5 lakhs in cash. Apart from these assets, Jagmohan was also found to own properties in Secunderabad, Shaikpet, Kundanbagh, Banjara Hills and Serilingampally in the city, and also in Vishakhapatnam. Plots in Amberpet and Nallakunta were also revealed.
The assets siezed from the IAS officer are reportedly estimated to be worth over Rs. 20 crores.
Jaganmohan began his career as a junior lecturer in 1986, and became the RDO of Siddipet in 1990. After being honored as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer in 2005, he became the Joint Collector of Vizianagaram in 2006. Posted to Ranga Reddy in 2008, Jaganmohan has been the Joint Collector of Ranga Reddy since then.
