The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Ranga Reddy unit, today caught S Rajesh Kumar, Sub-Registrar, Vanasthalipuram, when he demanded a bribe of Rs 1 lakh and accepted Rs 70,000 from a complainant through a K Ramesh, a resident of Nagole, for doing an official favour in processing the registration of the complainant's property.
The ACB said that the officer had performed his public duty improperly and dishonestly.
The bribe amount of Rs 70,000 was recovered from Ramesh.
Both Kumar and Ramesh were arrested and sent to judicial remand.
