621 Grams Of Gold Seized At Airport
Customs officers at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad, seize 621 grams of gold from two passengers.

The RGI Airport Customs at Hyderabad Airport has seized 621 grams of gold from 2 different passengers. The total value of the amount of gold seized has been calculated to be around Rs. 18,63,000.
In the early morning (around 1.30 am) of 10 February, 2014, the customs department stopped a passenger, Isa Hashim, a resident of Hyderabad, who had arrived from Thailand via Singapore in a Tiger Air flight, the number of which was TR 2624. A physical search of Isa revealed that he was wearing a gold chain made of raw gold, and weighing in at 221 grams. The chain has been valued at Rs.6,63,000.
Around 3.30 am, customs, on suspicion, stopped another person named Abdul Rahiman, from Kasargod, Kerala. He was coming from Dubai in an Emirates flight EK 524. While scanning his trolley bag, some bright wires were found. On more thorough investigation, it was found that the bag had gold wires with aluminium plating instead
of normal iron wires. The gross weight of the wires was estimated to be 570 grams, out of which, there is 400 gms of pure gold.The wires have been valued at Rs. 12,00,000. (INN)
