The customs officials today seized a huge quantity of gold at Hyderabad's Shamshabad airport.
They seized 7 kg of the precious metal from the possession of three passengers who came to the city from Dubai.
Acting on a tip-off, the officials apprehended the three passengers and frisked their luggages, and found that the luggage of one of the passengers carried the gold in the form of biscuits.
The officials said that the value of the seized gold was Rs 3.5 crore in the open market.
Deputy Commissioner of the customs department Ashok said that the department had registered a case and taken up investigation.
