Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that former MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party with the sole objective of ending the rule of the TRS in Telangana.
He said that the defeat of the TRS government led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar would start with the BJP winning the by-election for the Munugodu Assembly constituency MLA seat.
Shah made these remarks while addressing a public meeting of the BJP, Munugodu Samarabheri, at Munugodu on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Shah recalled that Telangana was liberated from the feudal rule of the Razakars due to the efforts made by Congress leader Sardar Vallabhai Patel.
However, KCR had retracted from his promise of celebrating the Telangana Liberation Day officially after the formation of Telangana State, as he was scared of his political ally the MIM.
Shah added that KCR was known for his false promises in the State, and that the Chief Minister had not fulfilled any of his promises made to the people.
The BJP leader asked KCR what happened to his promises like Rs. 3,000 unemployment wage, construction of a super-speciality hospital in Nalgonda district and free double bedroom houses for the poor people of the State.
KCR had also failed to fulfil his promise of making a Dalit leader the first CM of the State after coming into power, Shah pointed out. He added that K T Rama Rao, the son of KCR, would become the next Chief Minister for Telangana if the TRS retained power in the State, and not any dalit leader.
Shah alleged that only the family members of the Chief Minister got benefitted during the last eight years of TRS rule, and that the youth were denied employment opportunities.
The union minister alleged that the CM was now also taking away toilets sanctioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the poor people of the State.
Expressing confidence that a leader of the BJP would become the next CM of the State, Shah said that his party would hold the Telangana Liberation Day in an official manner on September 17 after coming into power.
