Hyderabad | 6th October 2025
Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar today visited the Madannapet police station in the city.

This was his first visit to a police station after assuming charge as the Commissioner of Police.

During the visit, he reviewed the progress of various cases, policing aspects, the communal situation and other related matters.

The Commissioner also interacted with the staff, enquiring about their daily duties, attendance and discipline, and inspected police station records.

Speaking on the occasion, Sajjanar said that the Hyderabad Police would focus on people welfare policing, aimed at enhancing public safety and strengthening the bond between the police and the citizens.

"Our people welfare policing will focus on maintaining peace and order, ensuring traffic and road safety, protecting women and children, using artificial intelligence in policing, controlling cyber and financial crimes, providing 24x7 citizen services, and ensuring the welfare of the police personnel. Building public trust is our primary duty. Every officer must perform their duties with discipline and dedication. Outstanding performers will be rewarded, while those indulging in misconduct will face strict disciplinary action," he said.

He also addressed the police force, saying, "Every petitioner who visits a police station must be treated with respect and should feel that justice is being done. There should be no negligence in registering cases. In all cases related to women, FIRs must be registered promptly and investigations completed without delay, with charge sheets filed expeditiously. Every complainant should leave the police station fully satisfied."

During the visit, Azeemuddin Farooq, father of the recent murder victim Sumayya, met the Commissioner and expressed gratitude for the swift investigation and arrest of the accused. Later, Sajjanar visited sensitive areas of Madannapet, inspected police pickets and CCTV cameras, and reviewed the preparedness of the local police. He also interacted with residents and enquired about their welfare and concerns.
