BJP Telangana in-charge Tarun Chug today came down heavily on the Chief Minister of the State K Chandrashekar Rao, and said that the levels to which the latter was stooping to confuse the people of the State just for a by-election were unfortunate.
Commenting on the speech of the CM yesterday in Chandur of the Munugodu Assembly Constituency, Chug claimed that it was grossly misleading and malicious.
Chug also alleged that KCR always talked about values in a democracy, but he was himself spear-heading the desecration of democracy by attempting to misuse the official machinery and political power at Munugodu.
"Firstly, he deployed all his MLAs, MPs and ministers in the constituency with huge funds to woo the voters. When he realised that it was not working as the politically conscious Munugodu voters wouldn't succumb to money or other enticements, and saw defeat staring at him, he unveiled a drama of his MLAs being bought. KCR had himself written the script and screenplay for the drama which fell flat," Chug claimed.
Commenting on the MLAs' poaching case, he said that the allegations of the CM that the BJP was trying to buy TRS MLAs was false, and that KCR had fabricated the video and audio content being shown as evidence in the MLAs poaching case.
"The story has many holes. The MLAs were kept away from the public gaze, and suddenly in a dramatic move they were flown by the CM's helicopter and paraded before the people of Munugodu. They were then taken away soon after the meeting in the same helicopter. Why is the Chief Minister scared? Why is he not allowing the MLAs to move freely and to come before the media? There is certainly something that the Chief Minister is hiding from the people," Chug said.
