Former Munugodu MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy today formally joined the BJP in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah at a public meeting held in the Munugodu Assembly constituency.
Addressing the public meeting for the occasion, he said that the end of CM K Chandrashekar Rao would begin from the constituency, and that the just would win the upcoming by-election.
Coming down heavily on KCR, he alleged that the State was suffering the rule of a treacherous and deceitful CM and his family, and that there was a desperate need to protect democracy in Telangana, which was why he had resigned from his MLA post, reposing faith in the people of his constituency that they would support him in that mission.
He added that KCR had also not given him an appointment to discuss the development of his constituency, and that he had taken the extreme step to resign to also do justice to the people of Munugodu. The Munugodu by-election was not between individuals but between the arrogance of KCR and the people of the State, he said.
Positioning the by-election also as a historic fight in the constituency against the family rule of KCR, he said that the people of the constituency should give a resounding verdict for the end of that rule.
Reddy also claimed that KCR was having sleepless nights after his resignation, and that the CM was therefore resorting to scaring the people of the State by claiming that they would get electric meters for their agricultural pumpsets if they voted for the BJP in the by-election.
It was however not the BJP but the CM that was cheating the people, Reddy claimed, and warned the CM that the BJP would recover all his illegally earned money from him after coming into power.
