BJP MLA T Raja Singh today slammed Telangana Industries Minister K T Rama Rao over letting stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui perform in Hyderabad.
He said that 16 states of the country had banned Faruqui for inciting communal violence, and that the BJP was condemning the decision of KTR to invite Faruqui to the city despite his comments insulting Hindu gods. He also asked KTR if he supported the comments of Faruqui on Hindu deities.
Singh also vowed to stop the show, scheduled for January 9, saying that the BJP would chase the comedian out of the state capital if he entered it to hold his show.
Earlier, BJP MP Dhramapuri Arvind had also criticized the permission given to Faruqui to perform in Hyderabad.
Faruqui reportedly made derogatory comments about the Hindu goddess Sita in a show.
