MLA and suspended BJP leader Raja Singh today appeared before the Preventive Detection (PD) Act review committee via video conference from the Cherlapally Central Prison where he is lodged, and submitted his arguments against the PD Act being invoked against him by the State police department.
The inquiry was held at the Greenlands guest house at Begumpet.
Singh's wife Usha Bai also filed a written counter before the committee challenging the detention.
The review committee comprising three members received the counter and reserved its orders.
The Mangalhat police, who invoked the PD Act against Singh, had already submitted a report containing the reasons behind invoking the PD Act, along with evidence.
Usha Bai has also filed a petition before the High Court urging it to quash the PD Act proceedings against her husband.
