BRS working president K T Rama Rao today demanded an impartial and thorough investigation into the harassment allegations made by Miss England Milla Magee and strict action against those responsible for harassing her.
KTR said that he was deeply anguished over the experience Magee faced on Telangana soil. "The incident faced by Magee does not reflect the true spirit of Telangana, and is contrary to the values cherished by its people. Telangana is a land with a rich tradition of respecting and venerating women. It has always upheld the tradition of providing equal opportunities to women, drawing eternal inspiration from legendary figures like Rani Rudrama Devi and Chityala Ailamma. I myself am the father of a daughter, and no woman should ever face the kind of unfortunate circumstances that Magee did. I am extending my sincere apologies to Magee on behalf of the entire Telangana society," he said.
Commending the extraordinary courage required to stand up against harassment on international platforms like Miss World, KTR praised Magee's resolve as commendable. He said that he sincerely hoped for her swift recovery from this distressing experience.
The BRS leader also strongly condemned the government's approach of attempting to "blame the victim instead of investigating the allegations".
