Telangana's postal department today announced that the beneficiaries of the TRS government's Rythu Bandhu program would be able to withdraw the aid amount being provided to them under the scheme from the micro ATMs set up at the state's post offices.
An official of the department said that the post offices in the state had already made the necessary arrangements that would allow the farmers to withdraw the aid amount easily at no extra cost.
With this, beneficiaries with Aadhaar cards and mobile phones linked to any of their bank accounts will be able to receive the monetary assistance at about 5,794 post offices. To withdraw the money, they will need to visit a post office with their Aadhaar cards and mobile phones linked to the relevant bank account. There, they will be required to provide their fingerprints along with the OTPs that they will receive on their phones to the postmaster. They will be able to withdraw a maximum of Rs 10,000 per day.
This distribution channel will be greatly convenient for the beneficiaries during the current pandemic situation as they will no longer have to visit a specific bank branch or ATM to avail themselves of the benefits of the Rythu Bandhu scheme.
The state government is currently disbursing financial support to the farmers for the Kharif cropping season. Rs 7,300 crore has been allocated for the purpose of extending financial support to about 65 lakh farmers this year.
