Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka today announced that for the first time in Telangana's history the State government had disbursed Rs 9,000 crore under the Rythu Bharosa scheme in just nine days.
He expressed pride that the entire initiative was completed within this short timeframe - from June 16 to 24 - setting a new record for the State.
Speaking at a meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan, Vikramarka said that the Congress government was actively implementing various welfare programs, and had allocated significant funds to roll out Rythu Bharosa on an unprecedented scale.
"While the previous assistance was Rs 10,000 per acre per annum, the current government has added Rs 2,000 more per acre. Rythu Bharosa is being provided for 1,49,39,111 acres. Unlike before, when the benefit was limited to farmers owning just 5 to 10 acres, the current scheme covers all agriculturally viable land without restrictions," he said.
The Deputy CM said that the initiative reflected the Congress' vision, and urged mandal-level committees to widely publicise the achievement of distributing nearly Rs 9,000 crore for about 1.5 crore acres in just nine days. He also called for grand celebrations across all mandal centres in Telangana.
