Deputy Speaker of the Telangana Legislative Assembly T Padma Rao Goud today said that Road under Bridge (RuB) near Tukaram Gate, in Secunderabad, was nearing completion.
Speaking after inspecting the works and interacting with some locals, the deputy speaker said that he was fortunate to be overseeing the construction of the RuB and some other works, and that he was the one who had taken steps to lay an approach road at the site.
He added, "We are committed to developing Secunderabad and equipping the city with all the facilities and infrastructure it needs to keep growing. Our government allotted Rs 29 crore for this road facility so that commuters could enjoy traveling without the hassle of vehicular congestion. The RuB will help ease traffic problems and pave the way for the speedy flow of vehicles and traffic."
Later, at a review meeting with some officials, Goud instructed them to speed up the process of the construction of the Secunderabad RuB.
He said, "Our government has already released Rs 15 crore for this project. There should be no delays in the completion of the same."
Several local leaders were present for the meeting.
The Telangana government has been quite involved in improving the roads of the state - recently, IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao
inaugurated four link roads connecting important areas of Hyderabad's IT corridor.
On the occasion, a link road leading from the Nizampet crossroads to the Hitex junction, another from the Miyapur Metro Depot to the Kondapur Masjid Junction, one from the Novotel Hotel road to the RTA office, as well as one leading from the J V Hills Park to Masjid Banda road were thrown open to the public.
