Telangana CM Revanth Reddy today officially laid the foundation stone for a new ICHOR Biologics facility at Genome Valley in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that Genome Valley alone contributed 33% of the vaccine production in the country.
"Hyderabad is responsible for approximately 33% of the vaccines and 43% of the bulk drugs produced in the country. During the Covid pandemic, local industrialists played a pivotal role in exporting vaccines from Genome Valley to various countries. Indeed, the industrial units in Genome Valley have created a distinctive identity for Telangana. And even with changes in governments, policies have continued to support the advancement of our industrial agenda," he said.
He also said that the State government was focused on attracting top-tier industries to enhance Telangana's global competitiveness, and that over the past 18 months, the government had secured investments worth Rs 3.28 lakh crore for the State.
"We aim to attract world-class companies to position Telangana competitively in the global market. In addition, Hyderabad is also set to evolve into a prominent data city in the near future," he added.
