Forest Minister Konda Surekha and Roads & Buildings (R&B) Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today held a review meeting with officials at the Secretariat, discussing stalled road projects awaiting forest clearances.
The R&B department officials informed the ministers that 91 projects remained pending, with seven of these stalled for five years due to delayed forest approvals.
The ministers directed the officials to intensify efforts to secure these permissions and highlighted the need for close collaboration between the forest and the R&B departments. They emphasized that accelerating these clearances was vital for the State's development, as prolonged delays could impede overall progress.
Surekha urged the forest department to assign dedicated officers to expedite the approval process and ensure that these essential projects moved forward.
