Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today said that he was not interfering in the investigation into the phone-tapping case, and that the officials concerned had been given a free hand.
In an informal chat with the media persons in New Delhi, the CM said that as the Model Code of Conduct was still in force in the State following the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, he did not conduct any review meeting into the investigation into the case, and that the officials concerned were looking into the matter.
Reddy added that he was not encouraging tapping in the current government, and would not do such things at any time.
SPeaking on other issues, the CM said that the backbone of the Medigadda barrage built under the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) scheme was broken, and that the previous government had released water from the barrage into the sea, but that the Congress government was forced to pay the electricity bills.
He also claimed that there were no power cuts in Telangana, and that there were some temporary problems with the supply of power due to rains in the State.
The CM expressed happiness over the peaceful conduct of the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana, and said that the elections were held without any allegations of violence or misconduct unlike in Andhra Pradesh.
He also said that the State government was designing a new emblem and composing a new song to remember the sacrifices of those who had lost their lives for statehood, and that the whole exercise, including the composing of the music for the Telangana theme song, had been entrusted to the poet Ande Sri. He said that he had nothing to do with the involvement of music director Keeravani, and had left the decision of who the music would be made by to the poet.
Later, the Chief Minister called on Congress leader Sonia Gandhi at her residence and invited her to attend the Telangana State Formation Day celebrations on June 2.
