Speaking informally to the media in New Delhi on Thursday, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy alleged that former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had caused significant damage to Telangana's river water resources, and that the injustice meted out to the farmers under KCR's leadership would never be forgiven by the people of the State.
"I have no personal enmity or rivalry with anyone, including BRS president KCR, who is merely a political opponent. However, Union Minister Kishan Reddy is making deliberate efforts to shield KCR, which is why I've been demanding a CBI investigation into the Kaleshwaram project and the phone-tapping case," the CM said.
While asserting that he did not want to create unnecessary controversy, he criticised the Union government for "not taking action" against the alleged corruption in the Kaleshwaram project, and claimed that arrests were only happening after the Congress came to power in the State.
He also said that the investigation into the phone-tapping case had been fast-tracked and the truth would emerge soon, and accused the Centre of obstructing the investigation here too.
"However, there is no question of sparing the KCR family under any circumstances," he said.
The Chief Minister also accused KTR of being surrounded by a group of drug users, and alleged that Kedar, a friend and associate of KTR, died in Dubai after consuming drugs, and that the full forensic report had confirmed this.
"And who ran away when called for a drug test? There is no need to take the words of such people seriously," he said.
He also asked K T Rama Rao the reason behind the latter's alleged secret meeting with Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh and the late-night dinner they reportedly shared.
The CM also mocked former minister Jagadish Reddy, saying that he knew nothing beyond mixing soda in liquor.
Reddy said that both the Union and the State governments were working together to resolve the water disputes between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
He also announced that he would soon tour Maharashtra in connection with the Tummidihatti project, and also that he was committed to creating one lakh jobs within the next two and a half years.
