Condemning the Manthani MLA Putta Madhukar allegations against him that he had links with slain mafia kingpin Mohammed Nayeemuddin, former Minister D Sridhar Babu demanded that Madhukar ask Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to order a CBI inquiry into the case if an impartial inquiry was what he wanted.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Sridhar Babu warned Madhu not to blackmail him.
"The TRS party is making baseless allegations and carrying out a personal vendetta against me. MLA Madhu could not face me during the elections, and hence is finding ways to malign me. There is not an ounce of truth in the news coming up against me. I have absolutely no ties to Nayeemuddin. This allegation surprises me. He should try laying an allegation that is less ridiculous," he said.
Madhukar had earlier alleged that Sridhar Babu had befriended Nayeem to kill those who were involved in his father and former Speaker Duddilla Sripada Rao's murder. He also said that Babu suspected that he was involved in the murder, too. Madhukar said that he would lodge a complaint with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and DGP Anurag Sharma over this as he feared for his life.
